New Terminator: Resistance Complete Edition Launches this October

The Terminator franchise has spanned more than 15 video games since the original film released in 1984, which include: Terminator: Resistance, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator: Dark Fate. While Arnold Schwarzenegger has captivated audiences with his role in the various movies, the Terminator world has expanded through other mediums. Video games being a useful medium have been a great way to create new lore outside of the theater.

One title which is completely unconnected to the films and yet has brought new life to the series is the aforementioned Terminator: ResistanceThis first person shooter developed by Teyon and published by Reef Entertainment released on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019. An enhanced version also arrived on PlayStation 5 in April, 2021.

Now after four years since it hit shelves, the title is coming to Xbox Series X/S for its second appearance on a current-gen system. Terminator: Resistance will be back (pun intended), with a Complete Edition for gamers to experience it in its highest quality. It will be launching on October 27 and is one more in an ever growing roster of AAA titles arriving that month. The Terminator: Resistance Complete Edition will bolster faster load times, better graphics, and enhanced framerates for Xbox players.

What Is Terminator: Resistance and Does It Compete With Other Titles Releasing This Fall?

Terminator: Resistance Complete Edition is coming to Xbox Series X/S on October 27.

If you are unfamiliar with the title, Terminator: Resistance is set during the original future war, which is referenced in the films: The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. It sets the player in a post-apocalyptic world where they must fight to survive against evil Skynet forces. While gamers navigate this world as protagonist, Jacob Rivers, they also see how the story connects to John and Sarah Connor, and what inspires the events depicted in the movies. The title was met with mostly unfavorable reviews amongst critics and gamers, however there is still a fanbase that stands in support of this entry into the franchise.

Unfortunately for the fans, Terminator: Resistance may be coming to Xbox Series X/S at the worst time for an already established game. The list of titles releasing in September and October of this year has easily made Fall the most stacked season for AAA gaming. Bethesda Game Studios is releasing Starfield on September 6, Mortal Kombat 1 launches September 19, EA Sports FC 24 arrives on September 29, and the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Phantom Liberty, drops on September 26.

The month of October gets even more exciting, as gamers will see Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Assassins Creed Mirage, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Alone in the Dark, and more. Given how many new releases are getting ready to come out, an enhanced version of Terminator: Resistance could have a slow start. Only time will tell if the 2019 title will bring in desired numbers when it lands.

What do you think of the Terminator: Resistance Complete Edition coming to Xbox Series X/S in October? Will it be a success or fail to be noticed due to exciting new releases coming this Fall? Leave a comment and let us know if you will be getting the updated or Complete Edition of the game.
