Zack Snyder is one of the biggest filmmakers of today’s time and it goes without saying that he would have some demands that he needs fulfilled before he signs on for a project. While some celebrities might have some absurd, over-the-top demands, Zack Snyder has only one and it has something to do with his wife.
What happens when you combine a director husband with a producer wife? Well, you get the ultimate power couple that takes on projects together. This is exactly what Zack Snyder wants – to work with his wife, Deborah Snyder. His demand is simple; if you want Zack Snyder, you will also have to have a place for Deborah Snyder.
Zack Snyder and His Wife are a Package Deal
Talking to The New York Times, Zack Snyder stated that it was a “deal breaker” for him if a studio does not want Deborah Snyder as a producer for the project. The couple has collaborated on many projects including, 300, Watchmen, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and more. Snyder would not have it any other way.
In the interview, Snyder stated that his wife is his best friend and he completely trusts her.
“Our relationship is husband and wife, director and producer. My wife is my best friend. I trust Debbie’s taste and way of navigating the world.”
Adding to her husband’s adorable words, she stated that since directors are away from their homes for months, it can create problems in their married life. Luckily, these two do not have to worry about this.
“Directors go away to create for eight months, and if your spouse isn’t involved, it puts a lot of pressure on the marriage, because the director is having these intimate life experiences that you can’t relate to. During the process of making a movie you have to bond with those people. It has to bring people really close to each other. You have to unite to get it done, and there’s a lot of time between take, and you sit down and you talk about life.”
Does she worry that the spouses, while away for work, could cheat on their partners that are back home? Is this why she prefers to be on set with Snyder? Well, not really. When asked if she worries about infidelity, the producer stated,
“Listen, if there’s going to be infidelity, there’s something wrong with the relationship. But if you’re apart for several months, that definitely put strain on the relationship.”
Now this is something many can relate with. It’s definitely not easy staying away from the love of your life for such extended periods of time!

How Zack and Deborah Snyder Met
The Wonder Woman 1984 producer had called in Snyder to work on a commercial she was doing for the popular company, Reebok. But this is not where their love story began to blossom as both of them were committed to different people at the time. Snyder was married to his first wife, Denise Weber, and Deborah Snyder was dating someone else.
However, their professional relationship would soon turn into something more when the two collaborated for another commercial in New Zealand. While in Auckland, the two went for dinner and Snyder broke the news of his divorce to his future wife. Recalling her reaction to the news to New York Times, she said, “Oh. Really?”
As for what Snyder thought of the beautiful woman sitting in front of him, he stated, “She was a bubbly, beautiful girl, who was sharp and on it.” And so began their romantic endeavor which resulted in marriage in 2004. The two have been together ever since and have even adopted two children.
