The wrestler-turned-Hollywood actor; Dwayne Johnson is one of the greatest action heroes one could ever imagine. Whether it be in the ring of WWE or on the silver screen, The Rock has always been praised for his professionalism and work ethic. The Jumanji actor is mostly seen doing action-packed movies and that is what landed him one of the biggest action franchises on earth, The Fast and Furious.
The Rock entered the Fast and Furious franchise back in 2011 and was seen first in the fifth presentation of the franchise as Luke Hobbs. He quickly stirred up his presence and made a good bond with the whole cast including Vin Diesel, only to end it after the release of The Fate of The Furious.
What Made Dwayne Johnson So Angry About The $7.5b Franchise
The Hercules actor not only bonded with the 56-year-old Hollywood actor on screen but they were even spotted publicly as well. However, that soon turned into hate, and it concerned the fans of the Fast & Furious franchise with what went wrong and who got on the nerves of the action hero Dwayne Johnson. It went so harsh that The Rock went all rage on his personal Instagram account and posted:
“My female co-stars are always amazing, and I love ’em. My male co-stars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April, and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes, and my blood is legit boiling—you’re right.”
It didn’t stop there, as he further added,
“Bottom line is it’ll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that’s embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on FAST 8 and I will finish strong. #IcemanCometh #F8 #ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses”
Analyzing the post, it can be agreed that he wasn’t having any problem with the female cast, but the male cast members were a matter of concern. So who could it be, keeping Jason Statham aside, as they both did shoot Hobbs and Shaw together, the spinoff from The Fast & Furious franchise? Who was The Rock talking about?
Vin Diesel is the soul of the Fast & Furious franchise. Without him, the $7.3 B franchise wouldn’t even come this far. However, rumors spread that he and Johnson were having feuds previously, but no one was sure if the “candy” comment was for him.
Ludacris was first revealed in The 2 Fast and 2 Furious alongside Paul Walker and since then he has been one of the pillars of the film as tech guy Tez. Dwayne Johnson has even called him one of his boys on social media on many occasions, so the comment can’t be for him either.
Scott Eastwood was the latest addition to the cast and getting a chance in such a huge franchise might inflate the ego of many. So, it can be possible that the comment was for him, but nothing proven.

Dwayne Johnson Later Regretted For His Comment On The Star Cast Of The Fast & Furious Franchise
A year later, Vin Diesel came out to bring a spotlight on the incident, and while interviewing with USA Today he said:
“I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don’t think that was his intention. I know he appreciates how much I work this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne,” Vin Diesel said. He further added. “I protect the franchise. I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it.”
After the interview was released, it made the Jumanji actor emotional, and he even went forward and said he regretted what he said earlier, and was quoted saying in an Interview with Vanity Fair,
“It wasn’t my best day, sharing that. I shouldn’t have shared that. Because at the end of the day, that goes against my DNA. I don’t share things like that. And I take care of that kind of bullshit away from the public. They don’t need to know that. That’s why I say it wasn’t my best day.”
Dwayne Johnson was later seen at the ending of Fast X and it didn’t come off as much of a surprise as the XXX: Return of Xander Cage actor revealed it online through his personal Instagram handle.

The next sequel of the Fast & Furious franchise is expected to be released on April 4th, 2025, and it has already made the fans excited thinking of the same old bonding.
