Talking about his fight with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson commented about his initial steps in the war and how he called Vin Diesel “too chicken-sh*t and a candy-a**” on Instagram. The aftermath was felt worldwide as people started taking sides before the Fast & Furious franchise turned into a family drama rather than racing.

Before the release of the film, Dwayne Johnson had posted a now-regrettable message on Instagram which started the war between the two actors. Calling Vin Diesel “chicken sh*t” and a “candy a**”, the actor regretted it in a later interview with Vanity Fair.

“It caused a firestorm. Yet intrestingly enough… it was as if every single crew member found their way to me and either quietly thanked me or sent me a note”.

The Hobbs & Shaw actor further stated,

“But, yeah, it wasn’t my best day, sharing that. I shouldn’t have shared that. Becuase at the end of the day, that goes against my DNA. I don’t share things like that. And I take care of that kind of bullsh*t away from the public”.

The actor regretted his actions as he had called Vin Diesel an unprofessional person on-set and was too scared to change his ways. Following the message, the two actors had various disputes and had to part ways essentially dividing Dom’s family in the franchise.

Back in 2021, Vin Diesel had taken to his Instagram and posted a picture of the duo’s on-screen character Dom and Hobbs together. In the captions, Vin Diesel was inviting The Rock back into the Fast & Furious franchise to shoot the 10th part of the franchise. Referring to him as a “little brother”, Vin Diesel stated that the role of Hobbs could be played by no other and that the world awaits them in Fast X.

In December 2021, Dwayne Johnson outrightly stated a firm “No” to Diesel’s plea and called it a “manipulation” tactic to force him back. As per the actor himself, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will not be returning for the upcoming Fast X. The movie is slated to release on 19th May 2023 in theaters across the U.S.
