March 2023 has been highly competitive as it released a bunch of quality movies in the theaters. But, the month of April could prove to be equally competitive as it brings out multiple movies which are set to release across theaters and multiple streaming services. The following is the list of all 10 exciting movies releasing in April.

1. The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Universal always manages to surprise us, and their Mario adventure could be the film we’ve all been waiting for. Chris Pratt voices Mario while Charlie Day plays his brother Luigi. Anya Taylor-Joy lends her voice to Princess Peach and Jack Black is Browser.
Along with them, we’ll also hear Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. But most importantly, Seth Rogen voices Donkey Kong. This all-star voice cast will tell us the story of how Mario and Luigi will fight to rescue the captured princess. As one of the movies releasing in April, The Super Mario Bros. Movie hits theatres on April 5.

2. Air
Hollywood best friends, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon team up to recreate a true story event where Affleck plays Phil Knight and Damon plays Sonny Vaccaro. But besides this duo, Air also stars Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, Marlon Wayans, and Viola Davis who plays Deloris Jordan, the mother of Michael Jordan.
Directed by Ben Affleck, this is the story of how Nike got into the basketball division by partnering with a rookie Michael Jordan and completely revolutionized the world of sports with the Air Jordan brand. This partnership was a huge gamble that put everything on the line. As one of the movies releasing in April, Amazon Studios will release Air in the theatres on April 5 before releasing it on Prime Video.
3. Paint
Owen Wilson plays a talented painter named Carl Nargle, who has a soothing whisper of a voice. He becomes a local treasure by hosting his own painting show on Vermont public television. His artwork usually acts as a chick magnet that attracts a lot of women toward him.
But things become complicated when a new painter gets hired to revitalize the channel. That’s when his own fears regarding his talents as an artist are brought to the forefront, and it’ll be interesting to see how he overcomes those fears and becomes the artist he always was. As one of the movies releasing in April, This comedy movie arrives on April 7.
4. Seven Kings Must Die
Uhtred of Bebbanburg finally took over his rightful lands and became its ruler. His story came to a full circle, but Netflix is giving us an epilogue of sorts to follow the story of The Last Kingdom. Alexander Dreymon returns as Uhtred along with his comrades.
Following the death of King Edward, Uhtred will battle to unite all Kingdoms of England under one banner. After 5 seasons, this is where Uhtred might finally perish fighting his greatest war. As one of the movies releasing in April, Netflix releases Seven Kings Must Die on April 14.
5. Renfield
This movie fills up the quota of a Superhero release in April. It isn’t a typical Superhero movie but we’ll see Nicholas Hoult play Renfield, who gets empowered by his narcissistic boss, Dracula. In exchange for the powers, Renfield gathers people for Dracula to eat.
Fans of the horror genre are also going to have a treat because guess who plays Dracula… It’s none other than Nicolas Cage, who truly unleashes his acting prowess! To raise the bar of fun, we’ll also see Awkwafina play a cop that gets saved by Renfield. The movie hits theaters on April 14.
6. Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant
Here’s an action drama that should excite many because it comes from director Guy Ritchie. It also features quite a few familiar names such as Jake Gyllenhaal (known for Mysterio), Alexander Ludwig (known for Bjorn Ironside), and Antony Starr (known for Homelander).
The story follows Gyllenhaal as the US Army Sergeant John Kinley. After an ambush, an Afghan interpreter named Ahmed saves Kinley’s life. But upon finding out that Ahmed was in danger, Kinley once again returns to the war zone to return the favor. Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant releases on April 21.
7. Evil Dead Rise
After 2022 raised the bar for horror, the success streak is supposed to continue with Evil Dead Rise, which has the potential to become the next Conjuring-level movie. It tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, Ellie and Beth, played by Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan respectively.
Their reunion gets cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons. Now, we’ll get to witness how they manage to survive this nightmarish version of their family when Evil Dead Rise releases in theatres on April 21.
8. Ghosted
The writers of Deadpool, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, have come up with Ghosted, which stars the power duo of Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. We’re used to seeing Evans as a hard-hitting lead in action movie roles. But this time he plays Cole Riggan, the boyfriend of a spy named Sadie (Armas).
But Evans fans need not worry as he’d also get to take down some bad guys! In an interesting premise, Cole asks Sadie out on a date and the two just click! But then she just flies back to London and never calls him back. Everyone but Cole is sure that Sadie ghosted him.
So, in order to prove them wrong, Cole follows her to London and ends up getting caught by an international villainous gang. And in comes Sadie to the rescue! As it turns out, she was a spy, which is why she ghosted Cole in the first place. But the lovers stick around together and Cole even gets to join in on her action-packed adventures.
As one of the movies releasing in April, this rom-com action movie is set to release on Apple TV+ on April 21.
9. Peter Pan & Wendy
Disney is finally doing something with their Peter Pan franchise as a new movie is set to release on Disney+ on April 28. Alexander Molony plays Peter Pan… a boy who refuses to grow up. Ever Gabo Anderson plays Wendy, and Yara Shahidi plays Tinker Bell.
After Wendy meets Peter Pan, she and her brothers… and Tinker Bell travel to the magical world of Neverland. Here they encounter the infamous pirate, Captain Hook, who is played by Jude Law. It’ll be interesting to see how this remake of the old story differs from the original.
10. Big George Foreman
Featuring Khris Davis as George Foreman alongside Forest Whitaker, Big George Foreman is the miraculous true story of the titular character who became an Olympic Gold medalist and World Heavyweight Champion. But his career came to a halt after his near-death experience.
However, he decided to return to boxing years later and managed to beat all odds. In his brilliant comeback, he became the oldest and most improbable World Heavyweight Boxing Champion ever. Big George Foreman is set to release on April 28.
