Moon Knight Becomes Venom, Loki Lifts Mjolnir in Marvel’s New ‘What If?’ Series

Moon Knight Becomes Venom, Loki Lifts Mjolnir in Marvel's New 'What If?' Series

The MCU has started exploring the multiverse with Doctor Strange 2, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the What If…? animated series. There’s more to come with Deadpool 3, which is also rumored to be about exploring the Marvel multiverse further. However, it can’t be denied that out of all these projects, it is the animated show that doesn’t get much attention from fans.

The first season of What If…? did exactly what the name said. Every new episode veered off slightly from the events presented in the multiverse, and from there, the sequence of events wildly changed. We saw Agent Carter get the super soldier serum, Doctor Strange lose Christine Palmer, and more. Now there’s more coming, and that too before season 2 arrives.

Random House Worlds is exploring Marvel’s multiverse further with new What If…? stories. In these new books, fans will get to see Loki wield Mjolnir, the Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man be siblings, and Moon Knight become Venom’s host. The official press release from the publishing house states that each of these stories will be set in their own unique universes in Marvel’s multiverse.

Here’s what the press release says:

The Loki story is up first, and the synopsis of the book is interesting. It mentions that in this story, Thor dies while saving New York as a result of a prank by Loki. Odin then banishes him to Midgard, where Valkyrie tracks him down with an odd request. But that’s not all. Tony Stark is tired of the Gods being callous, so he’s coming to Asgard to get his revenge. A part of the summary reads:

“What if Loki saved Asgard from Tony Stark’s revenge?… Iron Man vows revenge on those who consider themselves gods… He’s set on eradicating any tether between their worlds. Consequences be damned. When Asgard looks to Loki for salvation, he must answer the question: Am I truly worthy?”

Fans are excited about the books and can’t wait to dive into an alternate tale of the MCU canon events.
