“It was a miserable experience [Laughs.] Well, I liked working in Wilmington North Carolina. But I was very disappointed in the movie. I thought it could have been much better. I think a lot of it is really obvious, and I mean I had fun. And I mean Sam [Jackson] and Nicolas [Cage] are terrific. I liked the fact that I played, like, not really a Jew, you know? More of a suburban guy. “
Michael Lerner played the role of Phil Gillman alongside Nicolas Cage’s Amos Odell and Samuel L Jackson’s Andrew Sterling. The film got an IMDB rating of 5.7 and got a poor rotten tomatoes rating of 17%. It also didn’t do well at the box office globally as it just scored $9M+.
