I feel that it is a story about a hero’s journey. It depicts the process of growth and development of various characters as they go through trials and tribulations, and I also feel love and compassion for them.
He further adds:
The main character, Saitama, is in a different position because he has mastered the strongest. The difference between his outer and inner world is also fascinating.
During the interview, Yusuke Murata also shared his certain insights about Creed by saying:
I saw “Creed: The Past Strikes Back” last night and it was fantastic. I’m not exaggerating, it was one of those movies that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Murata also pointed out the commonalities between the two protagonists adding that:
I believe that “Creed” and “One-Punch Man” share a common “condition of a hero”. What I mean by that is that those who fight with the protagonist, regardless of whether they are friend or foe, will have their lives turned upside down. In the case of Saitama, that is, if the opponent didn’t die in a one-punch fight.
Both Jordan and Murata acknowledged the deep emotional aspects present in their respective works.
