‘MCU Phase 5 About to Fumble Hard’: Marvel Fans Convinced Disney Will Underpay, Overwork VFX Artists, Leading To Underwhelming ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Level CGI

Marvel was involved in recent controversy when one scene from Thor: Love and Thunder had hilarious level animation. Following this, several VFX artists working for the mega-giant studio came forward to tell their part of the tale. They accused Marvel of working over hours, unmeetable deadlines, and a pressurized workspace leading to the degradation of work. Fans are now convinced that Marvel’s Phase 5 & 6 will crash hard if these same conditions continue to carry on.

The entertainment giant recently announced its plans for the future as Marvel officially is about to end its Phase 4 and enters Phase 5 & 6. While there were some pretty huge names that would get any Marvel fan begging to “take their money”, several series and underrated characters will also get their recognition in the upcoming days. That is if Marvel keeps up its VFX proper.

The latest and recent film about the Norse god saw Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth as Jane Foster and Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. The film received mixed reviews with a rotten tomato score of 68% (pretty low for the studio), partly, due to its hilariously bad VFX. After some complaints, the VFX artists of Marvel Studios came forward and told their working conditions.

In a Reddit titled r/VFX, several of the artists shared their tales of horror about working for the mega-giant. Marvel has probably the worst methodology of production and VFX management out there”, they write. A Redditor by the name of Independent-Ad419 wrote, “They can never fix the look for the show before more than half the allocated time for the show is over. The artists working on Marvel shows are definitely not paid equivalent to the amount of work they put in.”

The CGI got so bad that the director of the movie Taika Waititi along with fellow star Tessa Thompson acknowledged the bad CGI and had a laugh about it. Watch the video here.

Fans are pretty worried now considering the tight schedules announced by Marvel. Due to these tight schedules and conflicting storylines requiring a considerable amount of VFX, it is bound to pressurize the artists more up to the point of exertion. And due to these conditions, the VFX loses its quality in some places. Among the lineup announced, Phase 6 will end with the release of two Avengers movies: I.)Avengers: Kang Dynasty & II.)Avengers: Secret Wars. Worried fans took to Twitter to express their opinions if the current VFX worked its way until the final showdown.
