The Witcher Boss’ clue for Season 4

The show has made huge changes for season 4. Primarily, Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia is being replaced with The Hunger Games and The Dressmaker actor Liam Hemsworth. Surely, the change has a narrative purpose but what is the most plausible theory? The producer of the show Tomek Baginski provided a clue for the fans to contemplate more on the show’s future scenario. Baginski commented on the fact that there are several versions of the character and the narrative. Referring to Andrzej Sapkowski’s work, The Witcher boss said,

“There is only one reality in Sapkowski’s work, but because it is a story from the past, what we know has been filtered by various authors, historians, writers, etc.”

“Maybe it is Jaskier’s version or someone else’s. Maybe Ciri had a different eye color, was a different character, and these events looked different from the point of view of the elves,” he added.

But following his interviews, the ideal fitting for Hemsworth seems to be via flashbacks of the whole thing. The Witcher is inherently a story of the past and the incorporation of flashbacks would be the best fitting for the opening of season 4. But one thing is sure, as confirmed by the producer, season 4 will not follow a multiverse plot as theorized by many fans.

The Witcher Season 4 is Consistent With the Books

Baginski further explained that the world built by Sapkowski seems “to me one of the most flexible in all of fantasy” although the release of the fifth book turned everything upside down. “Suddenly, it turns out that we can jump forward and backward in this narrative,” he said. The showrunners are observing the fans’ reaction and theories, the producer said adding the “ways of interpretation can vary widely.”

“I believe that what has been planned for Season 4 is consistent with the books. But I might interpret it differently than someone who can’t get over the fact that Geralt’s face has changed. I really like the idea for the opening of Season 4, but whether the audience will like it, we’ll see.”

Further, the producer once told Yahoo that the showrunner has “a very, very good plan to introduce our new Geralt and our new vision for Geralt with Liam.” The plan is also “very, very close to the meta ideas which are deeply embedded in the books, especially in book five.” Evidently, season 4 will be quite consistent with the books but the perspective might be changed a little. Still, it is worth being excited about how the new Geralt moves the show forward.

The release information of The Witcher season 4 is under wraps.
