May Calamawy was born in Bahrain and has had an exceptional life. She spent 17 years in her native country before relocating to Boston to pursue a degree in industrial design. She did, however, spend five years in Dubai before returning to the United States. She earned her bachelor’s degree in acting from Emerson College and went on to the William Esper Studio in New York City to further her education. Soon, they discover that their neighbors may not be human. The opportunity came up for May while she was in the UAE, and it was here that she received her real acting debut.
2. Most Popular Role: Ramy
Calamawy got her big break when she was chosen to portray Dena Hassan in “Ramy” in 2019. It’s a drama where she plays an Arab girl who has a tumultuous relationship with her family’s religion. This renowned TV show has helped her gain a lot of attention as an actress. May said in an interview that she enjoys being a part of the group because it feels like a family on set.
3. Several recurring and guest-starring roles
In 2017, May Calamawy had a recurring role in the National Geographic miniseries The Long Road Home as Faiza. She played a minor role as Ameena in BKPI as well as guest-starring roles in The Brave and Madam Secretary. The following year, she had a cameo in the CBS crime drama television series FBI as Nita Kayali. She made a guest appearance in the television series “Madam Secretary” in 2017, followed by an appearance on “The Brave.

May Calamawy has had a very active last two years. She starred in a number of short films this year, including “The Bed,” “1 Out of 30,” and “Saeed.” In 2017, she also participated in the short film “Passerby”. 5. Most recent movie: Together Together
May starred alongside Ed Helms and Patti Harrison in the film Together Together in 2021. Nikole Beckwith wrote and directed this film. It’s about a paranoid single father who finds a woman to be his baby’s surrogate. In this comedy flick, he begins to look a bit too closely into the private affairs of his surrogate, resulting in a unique bond that will both draw them together and pull them apart. The role of Carly is played by May in this film.
