Actress Evangeline Lilly has a weird obsession with ears, specifically earlobes. In 2014, the actress appeared on Conan on TBS and talked about the time she starred in two parts of the Hobbit film series. The actress revealed that she annoyed her co-star, Orlando Bloom, on the sets by taking the biggest set of fake ears.
Conan O’Brien also asked her about her weird fetish and then she explained how she developed it. The actress has talked about this obsession in the past as well, specifically on The Jonathan Ross Show, she explained which set of individuals have the best earlobes.
Evangeline Lilly talked about her obsession with earlobes
In 2014, actress Evangeline Lilly appeared on Conan on TBS and talked about her obsession with ears. When asked about it, Lilly replied,
“I don’t know if anyone ever noticed that I have a thing where I play with my ears all the time especially if I am nervous or if I am tired or if I am stressed out then I’ll start to just play with my ears, and next thing you know my ear will be folded inside of my head,” adding, “I am always checking out people’s ear lobes.”
She then touched Andy Richter and Conan O’Brien’s earlobes and complimented Richter’s earlobes. In another interview with Female First, the actress said she liked the “meat of the earlobe” and it’s not s*xual.
How did the actress develop the obsession?
Further in the interview, Lilly told Conan O’Brien about how she developed this strange obsession. The actress got embarrassed but then explained,
“It’s just a comforting thing. When I was a little girl, I don’t know why, I just needed comfort and a lot of it, so I would suck my thumb you know as a lot of little kids, that’s pretty common and I would also pull on my eyelid [with the index finger] because I like the feeling of the air on my eyeball and would also reach one across here [she then used her other hand to hold her earlobes].”
During the interview, Lilly also talked about her “pi**ing contest” with her Hobbit co-star Orlando Bloom. She explained that she wanted the biggest fake ears on the set and managed to get them after convincing the creators.
Evangeline Lilly named the person who has the best earlobes
During her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Lilly told host Jonathon Ross about the set of people who have the best earlobes in the world. According to her,
“The best lobes in the world are really old English gentlemen’s. They hang way down… I’d go for those [King Charles’ ear lobes] in a minute! Come on! I would.”
Evangeline Lilly began her career in the early 2000s and today, thanks to her her ability to bring complex and compelling characters to life, she has established herself as a respected actress in the entertainment industry.
