Marc Spector has been Moon Knight in the Marvel comics for a while now. But the makers have now decided to replace him. His last appearance was full of fear, thanks to the enemy organization called Zodiac. Though he managed to rebuild the Midnight Mission after their previous attack, he has been incapable of saving those around him alone. Now just when the nemesis thought they had the hero cornered, a Moon Knight emerged right in front of them. He is not the same one the readers are familiar with but he is one needed to complete the Midnight Mission.
Marc Spector is being replaced as Moon Knight by Marvel
In Moon Knight #11 by Jed MacKay, Alessandro Cappuccio, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC’s Cory Petit, the hero was hunting the Zodiac. He along with Avenger Tigra and Rutherford Winner, a former HYDRA assassin, were hunting across town. But it ended when the villain revealed himself. Though the Midnight Mission is rebuilt and can stand its ground, it cannot offer protection to others.
Now that the Zodiac is dragging people to the streets and slaughtering them, Marc was left with no other option but to await a miracle. And that is what happened as a member of Midnight Mission put on the mantle of Mr. Knight. Soldier first appeared in Moon Knight #2, he resides in the neighborhood of Marc that he has been saving. Even though he has no superpowers, he has proven himself to be a hero. Soldier, too, has a dark past as he was devout to HYDRA but he chose a more peaceful path than Marc’s.
Soldier might return to the world of violence
Though this time it is to protect the people around him, he is returning to his old path. But Marc Spector has always been an assassin even if he killed people for the good of others. Despite that, the two have done a great job leaving behind a really dark past. And Solider’s last take in rebuilding the Midnight Mission shows that his hard work paid off.
Now, with this new mantle, Marc might be able to draw inspiration from Soldier. Though it might seem like a suicide, it is really heroic.
