The Marvel Cinematic Universe just keeps on releasing movie after movie, and next in line to be released is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be the last movie to come out of the franchise for this year. All the promo and trailers have gotten MCU fans excited, who will be hoping for a worthwhile successor to the 2018 movie.
As well-known as it is, the original actor for T’Challa i.e Chadwick Boseman won’t be joining us in another Black Panther journey. He sadly passed away in 2020 after a 4-year long battle with colon cancer, which he was diagnosed with back in 2016. Fans will be hoping that Marvel can replicate the hype that Boseman’s T’Challa generated in 2018.
Fans Might Just Be Getting Two Black Panthers!
There is no direct successor to the amazing work that Chadwick Boseman did with Black Panther before his untimely death. But it’s expected by many fans that Letitia Wright’s Shuri will be taking on the mantle of the legendary superhero.
But recent developments may come as a surprise to fans of the character because they might reportedly be getting more than one person in the Black Panther suit this time round! A new 30-second TV spot released by Marvel Studios for Wakanda Forever suggests an entirely different protagonist count.
Right before the screen cuts to black in the spot, two Black Panther helmets are conveniently placed next to each other- the first one clearly belongs to Boseman’s T’Challa, while it’s unknown who will be donning the second mask. An unidentified character can be seen reaching for the second mask at the end.
It’s not likely that they’ll be replacing Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa, with some fans already suggesting that it would be a huge disrespect to the late actor. Regardless, Marvel can have its own way with this and might just be gifting fans with two Black Panthers in the upcoming movie, which would be quite the treat!
Rihanna’s Tribute To Chadwick Boseman In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Rihanna has been off the music scene for quite a while given that she hasn’t released a single as a lead artist ever since 2016. But that’s all about to change now as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s production team has hired the Umbrella singer to work on a single for the movie.
Rihanna just recently announced that she will be releasing her first solo single in years. Lift Me Up is written by Nigerian singer Tems, Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and the movie’s director Ryan Coogler. It will be released this Friday.
The song is a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who died aged 43 in 2020.
One can clearly hear the nine-time GRAMMY winner humming to what sounds like the chorus of the song, this is going to be a treat for her fans as well as fans of the upcoming movie.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated for a theatrical release on November 11, 2022.
