Jennifer Garner has been making headlines for her personal life or to be more specific helping her ex-husband, Ben Affleck in his marriage with Jennifer Lopez. While they continue to be great friends now, their lives were connected when the duo starred together in the 2003 film, Daredevil. The duo starred as the love interest in the film with the latter portraying Matt Murdock meanwhile the former as Elektra.
Jennifer Garner Was Allegedly Forced to Do Elektra
After its release in 2005, her short-term boyfriend and Alias co-star, Michael Vartan revealed that the actress was displeased with the spin-off but chose to work on it due to her contract. He shared at the time,
“I heard it was awful. [Jennifer] called me and told me it was awful. She had to do it because of Daredevil. It was in her contract.”
Despite the failure of her standalone film, Garner believed that her film would have performed much better had the time been any different. She knew that her female-led spin-off would have risen to great potential just like how MCU has explored its character.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she was disappointed in not getting the desired attention the film would have achieved.
“It’s such a shame, honestly, because once Kevin [Feige] took over everything there was elevated: the writing, the direction, the comedy inside of the stories they were telling…And I did not have that experience”.
Not just that, but she also had major wardrobe issues in this film which restrained her movements in action sequences.
“I had to be cut out of and sewn into the pleather pants every time I had to p-e, and that was like a 45-minute undertaking so I definitely held it.”
However, fortunately, that project didn’t much affect her career as she starred in the thriller series, Alias. Due to the same, her acting career moved positively. One can watch Elektra on Netflix.
