Marvel fans have been extremely opinionated about the MCU stars dipping their toes into the non-superhero genre – often questioning the credibility of the $6.6 billion franchise. For instance, Gal Gadot’s appearance in Fast X made her the subject of some brutal trolls as fans questioned the revival of her character and involvement in a non-superhero franchise.
While Charlize Theron and Vin Diesel remain some of the famous stars who have managed to make money from both, the MCU franchise and the Fast & Furious franchise, other lesser-known superheroes have walked the other side of the universe. Below are the stars who have appeared in both franchises.
1. Djimon Hounsou
Djimon Hounsou, who plays Jakande in Furious 7, portrayed Korath the Pursuer in Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel. Besides this, the actor has also voiced Black Panther in the TV series of the same name.
Interestingly, Hounsou was originally picked for the role of Drax the Destroyer but eventually chose to portray the founder of the Pursuer Project for the sake of his son, who expressed his desire to become a “light-skinned Spider-Man”.
2. Kurt Russell
Kurt Russell, who plays Mr. Nobody (a covert agent) in the Fast & Furious franchise, is known for playing groovy roles. The actor appeared as Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, where the character claims to be a celestial and father of Peter Quill and Mantis. Well, the actor is a man of old-school movie tricks.
Not only this, but Russell also voiced an alternate timeline version of the character, initially introduced in The Mighty Thor comic book, in the 2001 Disney+ series, What if…? Ego the Planet was created as a “way of exploring his fascination” with the expanse of the universe.
3. Brie Larson
Oscar-winning actress, Brie Larson made headlines for the mystery behind her role in the Fast & Furious franchise. The actress appeared as Tess, Mr. Nobody’s daughter in Fast X. However, Larson is a famous face of the MCU.
