And from the depths of Marvel comics, lies the dormant character of Sentry, the Superman equivalent of the MCU. Steven Yeun recently talked about his upcoming role in the 2024 movie Thunderbolts and how his character was so interesting that he couldn’t pass on it.

“It kind of came together in a weird way. Jake Schreier, who did episodes of ‘Beef,’ he got the gig to direct it and he kinda saw me for this role, and I read the role, and I was like ‘This is actually a really interesting role, I’d be down to explore this.'”

He further added,

“I think it’s less about now checking things off a bucket list and more looking at an experience. It’s more like ‘Do I want to experience that?’ Putting it out is a whole nother thing that I’m gonna have to prepare for afterwards, but in the immediate, I’m just down to just experience that experience.”

Following the interview, rumors quickly spread on the internet that Yeun is going to portray the role of Sentry. Why this might be bad for Mark Ruffalo? Because in the Marvel comics, during the episodes of World War Hulk, the strongest Avenger had to fight Sentry.

With the ending of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law setting up the events of World War Hulk perfectly, it seems that an all-out war is imminent in the MCU. As per the comics, General Thunderbolt Ross brings together a team of his own super soldiers to control the situation.

And with the formation of Thunderbolts comes the problem for Mark Ruffalo. It seems that Mark Ruffalo will eventually have to fight Steven Yeun’s alleged character of Sentry in the nearby future. With a release date of 26th July 2024, Thunderbolts is bound to be a game-changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.
