It is a tale as old as time, almost every actor had to survive on low-wage jobs to sustain themselves before they had their breakthrough roles. And it was the same for the Avengers star and FRIENDS star. Both used to cater and wait tables in the States before they got their first acting gigs.

When appearing for The Graham Norton Show, they discovered that they used to work for the same restaurant chain just in different cities. And this is how it went.

Schwimmer: “I waited tables for a long time about seven years. But my first gig was as a rollerskating waiter at this……… really cool place in Chicago… It was called Ed Debevic’s.”

Ruffalo: “I worked at Ed Debevic’s! In LA.”

Both were equally surprised at the bizarre discovery and went on to chat about how it was working at the place. While Schwimmer did rollerskating and performed stunts for tips dressed as Romeo, Ruffalo played Frankie. While they rejoiced over the fact that they had worked for the same restaurant, their paths never crossed until they both ended up on the hit talk show. Life truly works in mysterious ways.

FRIENDS is one of the best-known sitcoms in the world. Its popularity is such that it continues to be still loved decades after its end. However, as impossible as it seems there are still some people who have never watched a single episode of FRIENDS. Mark Ruffalo confessed on The Graham Norton Show that he had never watched the sitcom while David Schwimmer sat next to him.

When Norton prompted Ruffalo to share an interesting fact about himself, Ruffalo deliberately tried to avoid the question, only for Norton to reveal that the Marvel star had never seen FRIENDS. To which David Schwimmer remarked he will be getting a DVD set to gift Ruffalo and the rest of the guests who surprisingly didn’t know what FRIENDS was.

When Mark Ruffalo went ahead to mention his daughter watches the sitcom, Schwimmer promptly sarcastically remarked that he could maybe use the time as a great father-daughter bonding activity, while the audience hollered with laughter.
