If there is one actress who has cracked the formula of how to get headlines to constantly talk about you, it is definitely Margot Robbie. Whether it is her personal life or her achievements in the entertainment industry, Margot Robbie is somehow always the talk of the town. Her upcoming film, Barbie, has everyone going giddy with excitement, especially with the trailer looking so good!
And now, Margot Robbie is making more headlines as reports suggest that the Harley Quinn actress could have a shot at a different super-powered character. And this time, she could be playing a superhero. Apparently, the actress has been offered to jump ship from the DC Universe to its rival superhero universe for an incredible role!
Margot Robbie in Fantastic Four?
One of Margot Robbie’s better-known roles includes her time in The Suicide Squad as Harley Quinn. However, the world will soon get to see Lady Gaga take over the role for the Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux. As for Robbie, well, let’s just say she has no shortage of roles coming her way.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios has approached Robbie to play a part in the story about Marvel’s first family, Fantastic Four. The role offered is, of course, that of Sue Storm, one which Mila Kunis was rumored to be playing. However, Kunis denied any such claims.
The report only talks about Robbie getting an offer to play Sue and says absolutely nothing about whether she denied or accepted the proposal. However, if the report is true and Robbie ends up accepting the role, it sure would be interesting to see how she balances both DCU and the MCU. Or is her time as Harley Quinn over?
Could Margot Robbie’s Potential Shift Upset James Gunn?
James Gunn has worked with Robbie on the sets of The Suicide Squad and was left absolutely stunned after witnessing her talent. The filmmaker even went on to state that she’s his favorite actor, probably ever, and that only a few come close to her.
“She’s probably my favourite actor I’ve ever worked with. I think there’s a couple people in her league, Glenn Close and Chukwudi Iwuji, who I just worked with on the Peacemaker show. But what’s so great about Margot is that she’s just so good on so many different fronts. She’s a fantastic actor, she’s a fantastic comedian, and she’s a fantastic athlete.”
Well, if Margot Robbie does decide to go through with the reported offering, Gunn and others on the top of DCU’s hierarchy might not be too thrilled to lose an actor of her caliber to the rival team. As far as collaborating with Robbie goes, Gunn would “for sure” want to work with the actress again, although we don’t know if it’ll be related to Harley Quinn.
The Barbie actress might not be too eager to jump back on the Harley Quinn bandwagon in the near future as she is exhausted playing her. She told Entertainment Weekly that she was in dire need of a break from Harley and doesn’t know when she’ll play her next.
“It was kind of back-to-back filming Birds…and filming this, so I was kind of like, oof, I need a break from Harley because she’s exhausting! I don’t know when we’re next going to see her. I’m just as intrigued as everyone else is.”
While she didn’t completely throw the possibility out of the window, she has made it clear that she is done with the character for now. The actress is also pretty excited to see Lady Gaga take over the role and thinks that she’ll do an amazing job.
Fantastic Four is expected to roll into theatres on February 14, 2025.
