According to new reports, Henry Cavill’s confirmed Man of Steel 2 may present the iconic Brainiac as the antagonist of the movie. This news came soon after the announcement of James Gunn and Peter Safran as the new heads of the DC Universe from November 1. It is interesting to note that a plan for Brainiac was considered earlier also by various directors in their Superman projects but they got canceled every time due to various reasons.
Henry Cavill made his much-anticipated return to the DC movies with Black Adam and it can’t be denied that the credit for this must go to the lead actor Dwayne Johnson. It is due to his hard work and dedication towards listening to his fans that the actor is finally back on the bandwagon of DC.
Henry Cavill to battle Brainiac in Man of Steel 2
It is due to the new DC leadership under Warner Bros. Discovery that the Henry Cavill vehicle finally got its return after so many years. The old DC regime had very often been often about their disinterest in bringing The Witcher actor back. Now with DC Studios being a whole separate division and men like James Gunn and Peter Safran set to lead it, fans are having high hopes. Now with the reports of Brainiac, it seems like the new heads have already started to plan big for DC’s future.
It was reported by Geekosity, that the upcoming Man of Steel 2 can have the extraterrestrial cyborg’s entry as a new Baddie in the DCU. Worth to be mentioned is that the Brainiac is one of the most iconic villains of Superman in DC Comics and even Zack Snyder wanted to present the villain in his Justice League saga. Unfortunately, we all know the fiasco surrounding Snyder and Warner Bros.

Who is Brainiac?
Brainiac is one of the iconic villains of the Last Son of Krypton. Created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, the character is featured in the comics as an extraterrestrial cyborg. The character is also widely popular for shrinking and stealing the capital city of Krypton- Kandor.
The character’s misdeeds also listed his name in IGN’s 17th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time. Most interestingly, Vril Dox aka Brainiac is also a major antagonist of the Justice League. Now with the Superman movie in its very early stages of development, not enough information about the movie is out there. But the studio needs someone who can perfectly embody the sinister aura of the villain while the writers have to work towards a concrete storyline to support it.
The reports also claim that we might spot Sasha Calle’s Supergirl fighting alongside Henry Cavill’s Kal-El in Man of Steel 2. The duo is reported to re-unite in the movie following 2023’s The Flash.
