Although both Marvel and Benedict Cumberbatch left no stone unturned in making Doctor Strange a masterpiece, they couldn’t do the same with its sequel. But a recent update from costume designer Graham Churchyard saying that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was supposed to make an appearance in the sequel has left fans to wonder if the movie could’ve faced a different fate.

According to a tweet shared by SpiderMan_Newz on Twitter, the veteran can be seen saying,

“Spider-Man: No Way Home was supposed to come out after Multiverse [of Madness], and then with COVID [changes], it then came out before. So Doctor Strange in his new costume and America Chavez were supposed to go into [No Way Home], and Spider-Man was supposed to come into- for a very brief cameo appearance into Multiverse. And then, you know, COVID just shook it all up.”

As fans might be well aware, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was supposed to be released before Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home by May 2021. However, due to COVID-19, it got pushed down to November and then eventually to March 2022, thus getting released after the Spider-Man sequel.

With the entire sequence messed up, this major superhero ended up not making his cameo appearance in the movie. Regardless, the question still stands: Had the franchise decided to include Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man, would the movie have been saved? Here’s what fans have to say.

Following this revelation and an update from CultureCrave on Twitter regarding the same, several fans have been piling up in the comment section to share their views on whether Tom Holland’s Spider-Man might’ve helped save the sequel. Here are their opinions:

Though these are only a few of their opinions, it is evident that fans are not impressed with this sudden change. However, rather than crying over spilled milk, perhaps the Marvel Cinematic Universe will learn from this and not make a similar mistake again in the upcoming near future? That only time can tell.
