The report has neither stated Merced’s role, the plot of the movie, nor how the upcoming movie will be connected to the previous films. Even though very little is known about the upcoming sequel, it is certain that none of the previous characters would be a part of the project because it has been described as a “standalone film.” But one thing is certain, the film will showcase the battle between Xenomorphs and humans, featuring some spine-chilling jumpscares.

Will the Fans Get to See More of The Xenomorphs in the Movie?

The Alien franchise is one of the oldest franchises which has been releasing movies for the past four decades, featuring extraterrestrial creatures with elongated heads and a sleek skeletal system equipped with razor-sharp claws and teeth. Xenomorph from Alien franchise

“Like the xenomorph itself, I think the franchise has been constantly evolving and mutating into completely different incarnations. What sets it apart from all the other long-running franchises are the incredible directors that have been involved with the saga in the past. From Ridley to Jean-Pierre Jeunet—those happen to be some of my all-time favorite directors. And I think that’s what sets this franchise apart. It’s a Director’s franchise, like no other.”

The Alien franchise launched all the way back in 1979 and the first film was directed by Ridley Scott, with the film becoming an instant success earning $184 million. The other films of the franchise include Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Prometheus, Alien: Covenant, Alien vs. Predator: Requiem, and a crossover film Alien vs. Predator.
