Finally, after a long-running period of 9 seasons, The Flash television series came to an end. The series finale also acted as the conclusion to the Arrowverse and featured the comeback and special appearances of several existing characters seen throughout the series. But Katee Sackhoff is not happy as her character is one of those countable ones who couldn’t make their way to the finale.
Katee Sackhoff is known to many as Bo-Katan after her role in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The 43-years old joined The Flash in its Season 4 as the villain Amunet Black. Although some others also couldn’t return to the series like Sackhoff, she was very disappointed with her fan-favorite character being sidelined.
Katee Sackhoff is unhappy with The Flash finale
Appearing in The Playlist podcast, the Battlestar Galactica star added that she was deeply disheartened after nobody from The Flash series approached her to return. Katee Sackhoff revealed that she was all set to return as Leslie Jocoy aka Amunet Black. But the actress thinks that somebody among the makers hates her very much after she couldn’t get the opportunity.
“You know what – a lot of people love that character in ‘The Flash.’ I was really disappointed that I didn’t get to go back and actually reprise that role. Obviously, someone over there didn’t like me that much, because I did everything short of get down on bended knee. So, they did not want my character back again. So, I tried!”
It can’t be said that the villain was totally left out as we can get a very brief mention of her by Amunet Black’s lover Goldface who did make a return. Later on, Katee Sackhoff also agreed that the show had a large number of seasons and characters and had a lot to do before wrapping it up.
“Oh, I’m sure. There’s just so many seasons and so many characters to wrap up that I think that you gotta be discerning in what the story’s gonna be moving forward, for sure.”
From The Mandalorian fame’s statements, it is clear that despite understanding the complications, she is deeply hurt by The Flash finale not acknowledging Amunet Black at all. But unfortunately, she is not the only one who got left out.
The Flash finale missed another major name
The Flash and the whole Arrowverse as a whole were not enjoying a good time during the last few seasons. Criticisms were constant that the show couldn’t hold its initial charm and declined over time. This also impacted the finale which garnered a mixed response and certainly not up to the hype. But the fans were more disappointed to notice the absence of another major character- Cisco Ramon aka Vibe.
The character played by Carlos Valdes made his departure from the Grant Gustin show in season 7 but the fans were very surprised as he was neither mentioned nor seen in the series finale. This added more criticism to the finale which already received a lot of mixed responses. As per the reception received, The Flash provides a satisfactory finale but in no way a visual masterpiece.
The Flash can be streamed on The CW App.
