The Harry Potter franchise is one of the biggest franchises in the world and has had a lot of issues over the past couple of years, and those issues don’t seem to be going away as the gameplay leaks for Harry Potter Quidditch Champions have been received quite poorly from fans. From what we can see from this gameplay trailer is that the entire game is set similarly to games like Rocket League, where a player is able to design their own character and have a lobby they can wait in and group up with friends until they load into a match.

From what was shown in the gameplay leak, the character creation looks quite expansive and offers a lot of room for expansion as it allows players to change nearly enough everything about their chosen character, even to the specific role they would like to play in the game of Quidditch whether that be the goalkeeper, the seeker, the beater or just a general player. The main issues that have came from this gameplay leak is the actual gameplay itself, but understand this gameplay leak is still in early development and more than likely will change.

From what can be seen in this gameplay leak, we can see that it will be a five vs five game as players are able to free roam inside the Quidditch pitch as their only confines are the edge of the pitch itself, but at the moment the game looks rather slow in the action as the flying seems slow and bulky which for anyone who has seen the films will know it is meant to be fast-paced which will put a lot of players off.

There are also a lot of features which may change in the future, but for now, there looks to be an opportunity for players to swap what role they are playing mid-game whilst also having a boost meter which will also contribute to the game feeling slow.

Whilst the flying is an issue, it isn’t the biggest issue as there seems to be a lot of gameplay mechanics which take place whilst players are flying as they have to contend with players being able to steal the quaffle directly out of their hands, or having to charge a throw as they aim for the goals whilst also having a passing ability which can be intercepted by enemy players.

Even though these issues may seem small, they will ultimately become detrimental to the final product of the game; with this gameplay leak, we only saw gameplay as a basic player and did not see gameplay of characters who were defending the goal or acting as the beater, or the seeker so we cannot judge what those roles will be like, but what we do know is right now fans are not happy.

When will Harry Potter Quidditch Champions be released, and what will it cost?

At this current time, we do not know when the game will be released, but we do know that it is currently taking on applications from play-testers which is a good sign that they are rather close to announcing a potential release date. As far as we know, Harry Potter Quidditch Champions will be a free-to-play game, but it may include in-game payments for cosmetics, but we do not know for sure if it is planned to be coming out on all current generation consoles and PC.
