The entire Harry Potter cast became rather close with one another whether it was Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson or anyone else on the set. They became a family, one which they cherished heavily. One of the many relationships that the lead star came to cherish was that of his and Gary Oldman. He saw the respected actor as somewhat of a mentor and it became something he could never forget.
Even before the two actors met, Radcliffe was a rather wonderful fan of his. Oldman is a dedicated actor who has done projects one after the other that have helped in making a career filled with respect for him. He is one of the biggest and most loved actors and one of his fans was none other than the Now You See Me 2 star as well.
Daniel Radcliffe Was Excited To Meet Gary Oldman
Daniel Radcliffe was extremely excited when he came to know that Gary Oldman would be signing on as Sirius Black in the third installment of the Harry Potter franchise. He had already been a highly respected and established actor much before his career as the iconic character so it was no doubt that he would have fans wherever he worked. One of them happened to be Radcliffe himself.
“I remember that. I remember you giving me the Gary chat. You were like, ‘listen Emma, you need to be cool. Because Gary Oldman… it’s a really big deal and you need to be cool.'”
The actor even told his co-star, Emma Watson to act unlike her usual self and be more cool because the actor they were about to meet was a legend. He assured himself as well as her that they could not react or jump and take a more mature approach whilst meeting Oldman. This would have helped Radcliffe in setting a good impression in front of The Dark Knight actor without having to mess up or embarrass himself.
Emma Watson Gave Everyone A Hard Time on Set
Emma Watson was known for being exactly like her own series character. Many could not find where Hermione Granger began and Emma Waston ended. This led her to cause a lot of trouble on set because not only would she remember her own lines but also those of her co-stars. She would be mouthing lines even during takes which would lead them to often retake shots.
She was a troublemaker in her own unique manner but everyone loved her regardless. Daniel Radcliffe’s relationship with Gary Oldman was also one that grew throughout the years they worked together. The former was heavily inspired by the latter to the point where he learned some of the biggest lessons about his career from Oldman.
