As you may already be aware, Linus Tech Tips are facing massive scrutiny from the community after a video was circulated highlighted inaccuracies and several ethical concerns, one of which was the auctioning of a prototype item which they didn’t even own.
And there were further allegations when Linus Media Group employee Madison Reeve took to Social Media to post a thread in which they state that they were subject to inappropriate touching, bullying and sexist remarks which severely affected their mental health.

What was the Linus Tech Tips response?
With a recent YouTube video Chief Executive Officer Terren Tong mentioned the recent criticism saying ‘We have a lot of work to do’ and although he has only been in his current role for 6 weeks, he has seen a lot and has asked some of his colleagues to address the concerns.
And throughout the video, Linus Tech Tips wheeled out many, many colleagues who all basically said the same thing. They are looking to reign Linus in. And rightly so.
Chief Financial Officer advised Yvonne Ho that all YouTube video production are on pause as they look to get their ‘house in order’. For the first time in 12 years, LTT will be missing not just one daily video upload but many. She also had the following to say on Linus;
“Linus made a clear and egregious judgement error regarding re-testing a product he felt was impractical. That was wrong and I’ve told him so. He allowed his personal feelings on the matter to cloud his judgement.”
She followed this up with this statement;
“Our organisation is committed to our ongoing investments in making our content better. And we will do better, as a team.”

Maybe the most telling part of the YouTube video is that Linus himself is wheeled out at the end talking about his recent ‘demotion. He made some half-assed excuses and tried to throw one of his colleagues under the bus.
And referring to his recent post on the Linus Tech Tips Forum he had the following;
“And once again, I made things worse by allowing myself to respond emotionally.”
Linus had to pause at one point, for a show of faux emotion stating he made a ‘blunder’ and that he was ‘sorry’.
But having watched the video through, there appears to be no effort made to the toxicity of the work environment and the comments made by former employee Madison Reeve. Does this mean that Linus Tech Tips don’t agree with these complaints or are they just not prepared to address these?
