Aaron Taylor-Johnson Reveals His Keto Diet Got Him Hospitalized
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a star with armloads of accolades. He began his acting journey at age six; by appearing in a London production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth in 1999. In 2004 he gained the attention of industry heavyweights and appeared as a young Charlie Chaplin in Shanghai Knights alongside mega stars Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. Since then Taylor-Johnson has starred in several fascinating films, including Brad Pitt starrer Bullet Train.
In a candid interview, the actor once revealed that while it was an excellent experience working next to a talented star cast, one day, he experienced an on-set accident. He claimed he was following a mad Keto Diet for his role.
At the Bullet Train movie premiere in Los Angeles, Taylor-Johnson told Variety,
“I was on some crazy mad Keto diet. Because I got all; scrawny and lean for this, so I basically had low blood sugar levels. We were in a fight sequence, and I get drop-kicked across the room.”
The actor continued,
“And the one sharp bit of the corner where there wasn’t any padding took a chunk out of my hand. And I literally went wham, passed out. And then I came back and was like, ‘Should we go again?’ And they were like, ‘No, no, no. You gotta go get stitches at the hospital.’ So then I spent the night in the hospital.”
The 2022 comedy action movie the Bullet Train received mixed reviews from the critics and grossed $239 million at the box office.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson Shares His Experience Working in Bullet Train
Aaron Taylor-Johnson stated that despite experiencing the on-set accident, he had the best time working on this film. The actor also quipped,
“You know, when you sign up for a David Leitch movie, you know you gotta; get a couple of battle scars. Some war wounds.”
He continued,
“We all just came and had fun. David Leitch gave us so much room to improv and ad-lib, and we really just wanted to make these characters pop. I mean, it’s such a heightened reality, the tone of this movie. [These characters] are so bombastic, so you wanna make them lifted and pop. So hopefully, we’ve done that.”
David Leitch’s directorial Bullet Train is a 2022 blockbuster action comedy flick that features an ensemble star cast including Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio, and Sandra Bullock.
