Years before even Tom Holland was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Kraven movie was under development. After the release of Venom starring Tom Hardy back in 2018, Kraven the Hunter is a part of Sony Pictures’ plan for developing a line-up of Spider-Man’s rogue gallery that includes Venom, Morbius, and Kraven for now in a shared universe. While Michael Keaton’s Vulture did appear in the Mobius trailer, it is yet to be confirmed if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will ever appear in this shared universe of villains/anti-heroes.

Following the success of Venom and Venom: Let There Be CarnageKraven will be the fourth movie in the shared universe after Morbius which is scheduled to release this January. Currently, Kraven the Hunter is under production and is slated to release in January 2023. Here is the official Twitter handle:

Prior to casting Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven, Joel Kinnaman and Keanu Reeves were reportedly being considered for the role. According to screenwriter Richard Wenk, Kraven the Hunter is inspired by the character’s most iconic storyline: Kraven’s Last Hunt. Considered to be one of the greatest Spider-Man storylines of all time, Kraven’s Last Hunt is long overdue for a live-action adaptation where the inclusion of Tom Holland’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in the movie seems inevitable.

Kraven the Hunter is scheduled to release on January 13, 2023.
