And maybe unsurprisingly they state that since the announcement of the remasters of the Metal Gear and Silent Hill Series, there has been a huge amount of anticipation from the fans. They also touched on these titles further by stating that they have been working to faithfully reproduce the characters, game design and storylines of the originals but upgrading them with more evolved graphics.

Konami New Titles – what did we learn?

Konami
The MGS Master Collection is only one of the series’ being worked on by Konami

Unfortunately for fans, apart from the games that we already know we are still waiting to hear about anything new. Konami have been leaving a trail of breadcrumbs since the turn of year but they have yet to come to anything. Back in January they stated that;

“New and unannounced projects are ‘deeply and quietly underway’.”

And with the recent Financial Report, Konami had the following to say on the topic of new titles;

“We are working diligently on the production of new titles. In addition, “METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.1”, the first collection of previous “METAL GEAR” series works, will continue to attract more attention in preparation for its release.”

No doubt there will be frustration that there has been no official announcement for new titles as yet, given that this was also hinted at back in January. But looking at the financial report for Konami itself, we did notice a couple of titles due for release in the forthcoming months.

Fans are looking forward to Konami releasing the MGS Master Collection

Fans on Social Media seemed less than impressed with the lack of official announcements from Konami and some took to Twitter to voice their frustrations;

“This is whole bunch of nothing?”

“What do they mean ‘new titles’ ?”

“My honest advice is don’t expect nothing from Konami. It’s 2023. They have been using their IPs as eventually cash cows for cheap phone games and similar.”
