Kevin is a prestigious name in the field of acting and has ruled the cinematic and telly world for years. The profound actor, director, and producer has created a niche for him with a career lasting more than three decades. The actor is the true personification of American masculinity, a perfectly chiseled body and permanently found in blue jeans.
Costner’s cinematic success was relatively short ranging between the 1980s to the early 1990s, still, he managed to receive two Academy Awards for his work on Dances with Wolves, including Best Director and Best Picture. Some of his popular movies include Bull Durham, A Perfect World, Field of Dreams, Silverado, and Open Range, among others.
Nowadays the actor has switched focus to television series, and his performance in the Yellowstone series. Cartner recently came to the limelight due to his personal life, as the actor has ended his marriage of 18 years with Christine Baumgartner.
Kevin Costner’s divorce from Christine Baumgartner
Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner dated for a long duration of six years. The popular pair got married in September 2004 and have three children together, sons Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 12.
Christine Baumgartner, 49, filed for divorce a few days ago. The news has been shocking for Costner as he loves her and the children dearly. The couple were seen together posing happily, for the cameras at the Oscars event in March 2023.
A close source revealed that Costner was surprised by Christine’s actions and he doesn’t want the divorce. The source said,
“It’s disappointing, he loves her, and he loves his children.”
A rep for Costner also told Page Six that any allegations of cheating are absolutely not true. The handbag designer, Baumgartner filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences. RadarOnline.com revealed that Costner’s long Yellowstone schedule was a problem for the pair. She had given him an ultimatum to drop the show.
In her divorce filing, Baumgartner has asked for joint custody of their three kids.
The designer has not asked for spousal support as there is reportedly a prenup in place by Costner to protect his estimated $250 million wealth.
Costner responded to his wife’s petition on Tuesday. He also asked for joint custody of the children via his attorney who is a top Hollywood divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser.
Kevin Costner’s divorce from first wife
Before Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner was married to Cindy Silva. She had wed him in 1978 and she filed for divorce after 16 years of marriage. The actor had become a part of one of Hollywood’s biggest cheating scandals. Cindy Silva filed for divorce after the reports that Costner had invited an exotic hula dancer for a private show while he was filming a movie in Hawaii.
As per reports, The Untouchables star was heartbroken over the divorce and even begged his estranged wife to forgive him. A close friend revealed,
“Kevin has been calling Cindy recently and begging her to take him back. He’s freaking out because he doesn’t like the way things have worked out.
“He tells her, ‘I can’t concentrate on work. I can’t sleep at night. You have to take me back.'”
A second source revealed,
“Cindy knows she has the upper hand. She told him she wouldn’t tolerate him cheating on her. When he told her he’ll change, she was not convinced.”
Cindy received nearly $80 million in the divorce settlement with Costner.
The return of Kevin Costner to the hit series Yellowstone season 5 seems doubtful amid his marriage woes.
