It is no secret that Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender attended the same drama school growing up. While Fassbender was his senior, Hardy was always in awe of the X-Men star due to his incredible acting even at such a young age. Known for being a dedicated method actor, Fassbender was far too immersed in one of his roles during their school days. And it was his immersion that irked Hardy, who couldn’t stop himself from calling him out.

“Mikey Fassbender, he was in the third year, and he was, like, the s**t. And he was in this wheelchair, ’cause his character is in a wheelchair.”

Hardy then added how Fassbender’s commitment to the role was a nuisance to everybody,

“We had, like, half an hour for lunch, a half an hour to feed the whole school. We had this little canteen…. and Mikey would be holding up the whole queue ’cause he wouldn’t get out of his f*****g wheelchair. “

Unable to stop himself, the Dark Knight star called out Fassbender for being annoying.

“‘Mikey, man, just stand the f**k up and order your lunch so we can go back to school, so we don’t get thrown out at the end of the week.’ And he’d be like, ‘F**k you!’”

Despite the harsh retort from Fassbender, Hardy claimed that he still has ‘mad respect’ for him and would love to go ‘against him on stage’.

Time and again, Tom Hardy has exclaimed how much respect he holds for the Assassin’s Creed star. Often has he claimed that Fassbender is his number one man-crush. However, the Venom star doesn’t only look up to Michael Fassbender.

“I look up to [Fassbender], I look up to Ryan Gosling. Those two, totally man-crushing at the moment. It would be really cool if the three of us could do something together, because I’d be well up for that. And if Gary Oldman can get in on that as well, I’d want some of that, too.”

While Hardy and Fassbender got their breakthrough via the 2001 mini-series, Band of Brothers, in which both played minor roles, Hardy has collaborated with Gary Oldman on multiple projects.

Band of Brothers can be watched on Hulu.
