Our childhood enjoyment came from the Shrek series, which still entertains people today with its humorous fictitious tales. Araki Hirohiko, the creator of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, is a lover of Shrek. The mangaka has not only accepted but become infatuated with everything, whether it be the plot or the character design. The obsessed artist made a remark about the relationship between the donkey and the dragon that he hasn’t been able to get over for years.
Out of his obsession, the creator, Hirohiko Araki, has mentioned the character several times in interviews and even drew a crossover image of Shrek and JoJo’s character, Jotaro Kujo.
Hirohiko Araki Shares His Obsession Of Shrek With His Fans
Araki has been mentioning Shrek a lot lately, which makes it so obvious that he is obsessed with the character and series. It’s also fair enough that we all know how good of a series Shrek is, so it’s only natural to get attached to it. The writer once shared,
“I was personally surprised by Donkey and Dragon suddenly becoming a couple. They even had kids together in Shrek 3. Is that really okay? How did they even mate in the first place?”
Araki was left shocked to see the relationship between Donkey and Dragon, he added to it by wanting to know, how it is possible for them to mate after seeing them have kids in Shrek 3.

In a 2013 interview, Hirohiko Araki said that he would like to see a crossover between JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Shrek. In 2016, Araki drew a crossover image of Shrek and Jotaro Kujo. The image was featured in a Japanese magazine called Ultra Jump.
In 2017, Araki released a limited-edition Shrek figurine. The figurine was a collaboration between Araki and Medicom Toy. In 2019, Araki released a Shrek-themed T-shirt. The T-shirt was available for purchase at JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure exhibition in Japan.

Araki, in another interview, highlighted his love for Shrek‘s animation
“It has been perfected to a level of excellence, and I consider it the greatest masterpiece in animation history”
The creator exaggerates how he truly feels about the animation in the series by commenting on how perfectly done the animation is and that it is a masterpiece in animation history.

Hirohiko Araki is the author and illustrator of the Japanese comic series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. From 1987 until 2004, it was serialized in Shueisha’s weekly shoujo manga magazine Weekly Shûnen Jump, and then in 2005, it was moved to the monthly seinen manga publication Ultra Jump.
There are now nine-story arcs in the series, each of which follows a different protagonist known by the moniker “JoJo.” With its chapters collected in 131 tank-bon volumes as of September 2021, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is the longest-running manga series published by Shueisha by volume count. Additionally, it has been transformed into a number of anime TV shows, video games, and light novels.
