With the not-so-recent win of Johnny Depp in the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, his best friend seemed to follow right behind. As per recent reports, Marilyn Manson, the 54-year-old rock musician had a sexual assault lawsuit dismissed against him.
The Los Angeles model Ashley Smithline who had accused Marilyn Manson of sexual assault backed down from the case. Citing the alleged reason, it was reported that Ashley Smithline did not have the means to hire a new lawyer.

Marilyn Manson was dragged to court by a Los Angeles model by the name of Ashley Morgan Smithline. Although the talk is 2 years old (June 2021, to be precise), the case was recently dismissed by a judge without any prejudice.

Marilyn Manson walked a free man from the sexual allegations against him while Ashley Smithline was reportedly tired. It is rumored that Ashley Smithline wasn’t able to represent herself properly or she could not hire a new lawyer after her former attorney walked out. Following the dismissal of the case, a representative of Marilyn Manson stated the following,
“We wish her well and will continue to work to assure that a significant price will be paid by those who have tried to abuse our legal system. I never abused, assaulted, raped, threatened, or trafficked any of these women, as they contend. Their accusations against me of abuse, assault, rape, threats and the like are unequivocally false,”
Suffice it to say, the case was dismissed as Marilyn Manson followed in the footsteps of his dear friend Johnny Depp who also won the defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Although Marilyn Manson’s career would go on smoothly after the little setback, people cheered for Johnny Depp more for his latest project.

As stated before, Johnny Depp will be seen in the upcoming French drama film titled La Favorite, now more commonly known as Jeanne du Barry. The actor will portray the role of King Louis XV and will be his first project following the whole defamation affair with Amber Heard.
The people eagerly await the return of Johnny Depp once again on the cinema screens since the film will be released in the year 2023 with no official date confirmed. The film will be a historical drama that will be released theatrically in France. With the support of Netflix, the film will enter the OTT platform around 15 months after its release.
