According to reports, there were also several other actors attached to the role which included Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, and Will Smith. The role, as fate would have it, went on to Keanu Reeves as the actor found himself surrounded by fame and wealth in the blink of an eye.

With the recent courtroom drama with Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, both the actor’s careers took a major setback. After the whole ordeal was over, it was reported that Depp will be making a comeback onto the big screens by portraying the role of King Louis XV in an upcoming French movie titled La Favorite.

The movie is backed by Netflix and will release theatrically in the region of France and will be picked up by Netflix later on for streaming. The movie is not yet set for a confirmed release date but is expected to release sometime in 2023.
