Is John Cena Not Happy With DCEU 

Following a storied wrestling career, John Cena ventured into the world of Hollywood. Although he had dabbled in acting while still active in wrestling, his breakthrough came in 2021 with his role as Peacemaker in the DC Extended Universe film, The Suicide Squad. His performance garnered praise and opened doors for future opportunities. With his success in the DCEU, speculation arose about his potential involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

When asked about the possibility, Cena expressed openness to the idea, fueling excitement among fans and industry insiders about his potential future projects in the Marvel universe. After the triumph of The Suicide Squad, John Cena secured the starring role as Peacemaker in a spinoff TV series on HBO Max. 

However, Peacemaker Season 2 could face a long delay, as James Gunn is busy with Superman: Legacy. Interestingly, Cena has shown his openness to joining the Marvel Studios family by expressing his interest in being cast in a Marvel project, specifically mentioning the possibility of being a part of a Fantastic Four adaptation. Besides, Cena’s character in Fast and Furious has also been killed off in the latest installment of the franchise. So it makes sense for the actor to look for options, given his future in the DCEU and Fast and Furious franchise lies in uncertainty.

John Cena Was Supposed To Work In An MCU Film

During a segment on Esquire’s Explain This, John Cena found himself confronted with various internet-related topics linked to his name. Among them, an article from MovieWeb titled John Cena Would Be Perfect as The Thing in Marvel’s Fantastic Four Reboot caught his attention. The mention sparked discussion and speculation about Cena’s potential involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the role he could play in a potential reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise.

When questioned about the possibility of taking on a role in Marvel, John Cena responded with enthusiasm and an open mind. The WWE legend expressed his eagerness for new opportunities and indicated that he would be more than willing to venture into the Marvel universe. Cena’s willingness to embrace new challenges and explore different avenues of acting showcased his versatility and sparked further speculation about a potential Marvel debut for the charismatic star.

“I would consider most anything. I think keeping yourself open to options and different perspectives is a good way to go about life. This would simply be a thing that I would consider because I like to keep my perspective open to new things.”
