John Cena and 6 Other Action Giants Who Will Shatter Box Office if They're in Expendables 5 after Rumored Sylvester Stallone Exit

It seems that the veteran actors from The Expendables franchise are also leaving the action-heavy movies. From what rumors state, the upcoming movie, Expendables 4 or Expend4bles will allegedly be the movie where we say goodbye to Sylvester Stallone’s character in the franchise.

With the alleged departure of Stallone’s Barney Ross, there are several other actors in the mix who could potentially join the franchise. From veteran names such as John Cena to Jackie Chan, these heroes could save the franchise from future doom.

1) John Cena

Off the top of the head, comes a WWE wrestler who is a hunk of a man, John Cena. The Expendables franchise has been known to dabble with WWE wrestlers such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ronda Rousey.

With John Cena rising up in the ranks of Hollywood through his various roles such as Jakob Toretto and Peacemaker, it seems that the wrestler/actor is a great choice to be the newest character in the Expendables family.

2) Linda Hamilton

Linda Hamilton has been known around the world as Sarah Conner in the iconic Terminator franchise. With her reprisal in 2019’s Terminator: Dark Fate getting rave reviews, it seems that The Expendables franchise could also use some woman power that is pretty permanent in the team.

Having her resume filled with action flicks with a no-nonsense attitude, Linda Hamilton is essentially the female version of Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross.

3) Donnie Yen

Donnie Yen found the spotlight once again with his portrayal of Caine in Keanu Reeves’ latest magnum opus John Wick: Chapter 4. Portraying the role of a blind man wanting to save his daughter, Donnie Yen sets off a chase on Mr. Wick until they both duel it out at the end of the film.

Also having his strong background with movies like the Ip Man franchise, Donnie Yen could be the ideal guy for getting some close combat action scenes with swooping camera angles in the franchise.

4) Keanu Reeves

And right behind Donnie Yen is the man himself, Keanu Reeves. Being the humbles actor on Earth, Reeves needs no introduction for his action movies. Starring in the iconic role of Mr. John Wick in the John Wick franchise, Reeves has more than proved himself to be able to join The Expendables franchise.

After taking an alleged break from the John Wick franchise, it would seem a pretty convenient time for Reeves to join the veteran actors’ franchise and unleash his dogs on some poor mercenary.

5) Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan had indeed been offered a role in The Expendables 1 and before but he rejected the offer both times. Stating that he did not want a few minutes of screentime alongside an ensemble cast, Chan refused to star in the franchise.

Now, with the rules of the future movies changed, it seems that Jackie Chan could finally say yes to the franchise and be a part of it.

6) Dwayne Johnson

Another veteran actor who needs no introduction, Dwayne Johnson could easily portray his iconic role of Luke Hobbs from the Fast & Furious franchise and still be a part of The Expendables. With his muscular body, a no-nonsense attitude with a sense of humor, The Rock could be just what the franchise would need in its upcoming movies.

With enough experience starring in action and adventurous movies, the duo of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham (which the people loved in Hobbs & Shaw) could once again be seen in the movies if The Rock were to be selected.

7) Angelina Jolie

The veteran actress has often been compared to a goddess and has also shown her considerable strength by portraying the role of Lara Croft in the iconic Tomb Raider franchise. Finding fame all over the world for her role as Lara Croft, Angelina Jolie proved that she is not a damsel in distress.

With her portrayal of Thena in Marvel’s Eternals back in 2021, audiences gave rave reviews on seeing Jolie’s return to the big screens. If she were to join The Expendables franchise, theaters would surely be filled with people waiting to see their goddess once again on the big screen.

Suffice it to say, there are plenty of actors that could portray various different characters based on their movies and histories. With Sylvester Stallone’s alleged exit, Expend4bles will be released on 22nd September 2023.
