Dwyane Johnson found his inspiration from his father Rocky Johnson
In the interview, the Fast and Furious star opened up on his food habits and how he developed them. The actor shared,
“I am a creature of habit when it comes to food. I usually eat the same thing every day for days and weeks and months. It’s very consistent, it’s boring and it’s also very disciplined. I picked this up from my old man (father Rocky Johnson), who was a hardcore gym fanatic. He was the first professional wrestler who had a bodybuilder’s body.”
Talking about the lessons he learned from his father, he shared,
“He told me very early not to eat to please the tongue but eat to nourish the body. He taught me when I was five. It’s probably why I need therapy.”
Dwyane Johnson’s father, Rocky Johnson was a professional wrestler, the first Black Georgia Heavyweight Champion and NWA Television Champion. He won the World Tag Team Championship in 1983 along with his partner Tony Atlas, and became the first black champion in WWE history.
Dwayne Johnson’s diet plan
Red Notice fame is world known for his extraordinary diet and complex workout routine. In December 2022 story of Men’s Health, the Jumanji star delved into details on his food intake. He said,
“Well, I eat six meals a day [and they’re all similar in terms of nutrients]. Breakfast consists of eggs, meat like bison, a complex carb like oatmeal, and fruit, usually either papaya or blueberries. My second meal, around 10:00 A.m., usually consists of a chicken breast, a complex carb like rice, and some greens. And dinner is fish or chicken, a complex carb like sweet potatoes, and some greens.”
In the case of macro counting, The Rock explained that he keeps track of his food intake. Johnson said,
“I do see results quickly when we adjust the macros. [The range: protein 40–45 percent, carbs 40–50 percent, fats 15–20 percent.] We’ve got it down to a science where we fine-tune the macros and I never feel hungry. That’s a key: Training and dieting down for a goal requires discipline, and you can often feel hungry.”
In an interview with Delish, Dwayne Johnson shared that his diet has been between 6,000 and 8,000 calories per day for many years.
