Popular for portraying the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth has come a long way since he started his acting career. And over his years-long career, he has learned several new techniques and skills for his movies. Whether it’s to sharpen up his typing skills for the 2015 thriller Blackhat or take several physical challenges for his Nat Geo special Limitless, he has never backed out from learning something new, except one thing.
The Thor star has been married to the Spanish model Elsa Pataky for over a decade and has still not been able to master the Spanish language. And he addressed the same after a Spanish phrase was seen scribbled on his hand during the premiere of Extraction 2 in Madrid.
Chris Hemsworth Caught With Spanish Cheat Notes
Chris Hemsworth is all set to return as Tyler Rake in the sequel to the 2020 Netflix action thriller, Extraction 2. The sequel is set to premiere on the streaming giant in the upcoming weeks, and the Hollywood star is currently busy promoting his upcoming film.
Earlier this week, he attended the premiere of the action thriller in Madrid. And while fans were basking in their charm, there was also something else they couldn’t help but notice. As The Avengers star waved his hand toward his fans, they noted some words scribbled on his palm.
It was a Spanish phrase that said, “Estoy muy feliz de estar en España.” The phrase translates to “I’m very happy to be in Spain.” He later told a Spanish TV program that his wife, Elsa Pataky, wrote the phrase on his palm to help him say some Spanish words on the red carpet.
However, he seemingly forgot about it while addressing the onlookers on the red carpet, which caused the blunder for the Australian actor. He jokingly addressed the mishap later on social media as he shared his picture from the Extraction 2 premiere event.
Chris Hemsworth Humorously Addresses the Mishap
After the blunder at the premiere of Extraction 2 in Madrid, Chris Hemsworth humorously addressed the incident on social media. He shared a snap of himself waving toward his fans and exposing the Spanish phrase on his hand, saying that after years, he finally has it “in the palm of [his] hand.”
“After years of coming to Spain and being asked, “Has my Spanish improved” I can safely say it’s in the palm of my hand,” he shared on Twitter. The Spiderhead star also thanked everyone who supported his upcoming Netflix movie, Extraction 2 and showed up at its premiere in Madrid.
The sequel will bring him back as Tyler Rake, who has been presumed to be dead after the events of the 2020 film. The sequel follows him rescuing a Georgian gangster’s family from a prison they’re captivated at.
Extraction 2 will premiere on Netflix on June 16, 2023.
