Wolfgang Novogratz has gained the limelight for his upcoming rumored debut in the DCEU as Superman. Despite fans’ disappointment, DCEU co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have removed Henry Cavill from the role of Superman. Cavill was last seen reprising his role of Superman in the post-credit scenes of Black Adam. His short yet last appearance was much appreciated by the fans who had a hope to see Cavill as Clark Kent aka Superman. With the exit of the Man of Steel star, there is only one question lingering in the minds of the audience: who will be the new cast to bring justice to the character of Superman?
James Gunn’s Future Plans For Superman
The exit of Cavill does not halt the storyline of Superman under new co-CEOs management. James Gunn has announced the upcoming story and his aspiring plans for Superman’s return to the DCEU. Gunn shared that the new storyline will follow the early story arc of Superman. Gunn will serve as the screenwriter for the upcoming project, whereas no director or actor has yet been finalized. The upcoming movie will be a part of the future slate for the franchise. As per Gunn’s statement, the new Superman will be a young face who can carry forth the storyline in the future while meeting the characteristics of the legendary superhero character.
Wolfgang Novogratz Targeted for Being The New Superman
Wolfgang Novogratz who is well known for starring in the ABC spin-off series, Grown-ish, has made news for his possible debut in the DCEU as the new Superman. Novogratz fits perfectly with Gunn’s description of the new Superman. The Last Summer star is young and has not been exploited by the film industry, as his talent remains undermined. The actor carries both freshness and potential to be the new Superman’s face. Many believe that Wolfgang Novogratz has a resemblance with previous Superman, Christopher Reeve, also regarded as the greatest onscreen Superman.
As per recent updates Wolfgang Novogratz had to delete his Instagram as the young actor became the victim of the internet’s toxicity for only being a plausible replacement for Henry Cavill. The Half of it star’s Instagram was flooded with negativity, as fans remain dissatisfied after the former Superman’s exit.
Even though Wolfgang Novogratz has not been officially confirmed as the new Superman. The recent incident only hints at the very fact that it will be extremely tough for the new Superman to get the audience’s acceptance. As the new Superman will surely invite immense internet wrath and toxicity after accepting the role.
