But now, the attention seems to have shifted to his personal life since his separation from his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner came to the surface. Despite the duo citing irreconcilable differences as their separation, they found themselves in a messy divorce with new reports further bringing his story into the limelight.
Christine Baumgartner is Not Leaving Kevin Costner’s California Home
Her attorney, John Rydell said that the former cannot legally force the latter to leave the family. As per court documents obtained by Insider,
“This RFO (request for order) seeks to kick Christine and their three children out of the house that the children have lived in for their entire lives.”
As per the filing, Rydell clapped back stating,
“Although the legal basis for Kevin’s request to kick his wife and children out of their home is all but nonexistent, this is still a matter of critical importance for Christine.”
“It’s disingenuous to bring the kids into this. This has nothing to do with the kids. The kids’ foundation is solid. This is all about Christine. Kevin has gone above and beyond in providing Christine the necessary means to find a suitable place for her to move.”
The actor reportedly has done a lot despite his ex Mrs. Costner spending a whopping sum of $95K illegally which belonged to the former.

Before the duo got engaged in a troubling divorce, the actor claimed that his former wife had swiped off nearly $100,000 without his consent to pay for her legal aid.
“Since April 2023, Christine has withdrawn from my bank account and charged on my credit card a total of $95,000, payable to her divorce attorney and forensic accountant. This was done without any prior notice to me.”
He complained about Baumgartner’s behavior as he has already given her $1 million of what was required as per their prenup agreement. The report per TMZ. also mentioned that he is even read to further pay her a $10,000 advance for her moving costs and $30,000 per month for a rental home.
They tied the knot in 2004 sharing three kids, sons Cayden and Hayes, and a daughter Grace. Costner is also the father of four children, Annie, Lily, Joe, and Liam from previous relationships.
