Hugh grant allegedly decided to marry Anna Eberstein for his gain

After the Paddington star finally tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend at the age of 57, it came out as a little weird, considering the actor previously expressed his distaste for marriage. But it seems that the reason behind his wedding wasn’t influenced by his passion for walking down the aisle but was because of alleged passport reasons. While speaking with USA Today, the actor stated,

“I didn’t like going through immigration into countries where they’d say, ‘Everyone with a Grant passport, over here, and all the others through there.’ She went through with the nannies. That seemed all wrong.”

However, the actor also went on to express that another reason behind their decision to get married was because of their children. He stated,

“My wife agrees with me that marriage is a pretty preposterous social construct. But when you’ve got three children, it’s a nice thing to do.”

Apart from this, the actor’s relationship with Anna Eberstein suffered another blow after the actor was allegedly cheating Eberstein with his ex-girlfriend Tinglan Hong.
