The Late Robin Williams’ Wife Revealed The Real Reason Behind His Devastating Death
While Robin Williams’ death was a devastating event for all the fans worldwide, it was even more traumatizing for the late actor’s family. In an interview with Marca, his widowed wife Susan Schneider shared how the Jumanji star’s autopsy reports confirmed that he had Lewy body Dementia, which reportedly played a major part in Williams’ taking his own life.
Lewy body Dementia, aka LBD, is a rare disease that is often misdiagnosed due to its multiple symptoms, and which leaves its victim with utterly overwhelming feelings. Talking about her husband’s cause of death, Schneider said,
“The doctors said to me after the autopsy: ‘Are you surprised that your husband had Lewy bodies throughout his entire brain and brain stem?’ I didn’t even know what Lewy bodies were. But, I said: ‘No, I’m not surprised.’ The fact that something had infiltrated every part of my husband’s brain? That made perfect sense.”
Continuing, she let out how different her late husband had been behaving because of LBD itself.
“It was very out of character for Robin to be so paranoid. And that was the start of this 10-month drumbeat of increasing symptoms. And, the thing with LBD is the symptoms don’t come all at once – they change. So they’re incredibly confusing to the patient and caregiver.”
Besides this, there is another factor that points right at LBD being the biggest reason behind Robin Williams’ untimely death: His brilliant mind speed, which he demonstrated from the very early years of his life.

Depression Wasn’t The Only Reason Behind Robin Williams’ Death
Although many still regard that depression played a major role in Robin Williams’ taking his own life, his wife tends to differ. Sharing with Marca, Schneider revealed that while his mental issues were, in fact, one of the problems that he had, however, they weren’t the only and most pressing one out of all.
“It was not depression that killed Robin,” Schnider said. “Depression was one of, let’s call it, fifty symptoms, and it was a small one.”
After all the speculations and reassessing of his symptoms, it seems that perhaps the late legend did, in fact, end up losing his life to this terrible disease. Regardless of it all, Robin Williams will always be remembered as one of the greatest stars of all time.
