Steven Maeda Talks About the Future of One Piece Live-Action

When asked about the plans of the series, creator Maeda’s bleak response has disappointed a lot of fans. Including reasons like needing a minute “to catch their breath before steering farther out to sea” and the writer’s strike, he said:

“It’s a worthwhile ask — and answers will be forthcoming. I don’t want to speak on the continuation of One Piece at this point, just because this first season was such a bear. It was a wonderful challenge, but it took years out of our lives and I want to let the focus be on that for the launch.”

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece was developed till the Arlong Park for the first season and the fans suspect that the second season, if made will include the adventures of Luffy from the Alabasata Saga, which would require a lot more work and analysis for the series. To make it worthy like the first season, creators Owens and Maeda will need to work a lot more than the first season.
