In the 2015 Golden Globes Awards, Lopez and Renner were up together to announce the Best Actor Award for Television Mini-Series. While fidgeting with the envelope, the On The Floor hitmaker asked Renner whether he would like her to open their envelope, and here is how the convo went,
Lopez: “You want me to do it? I have the nails.”
Renner: “You got the globes too.”
The Hawkeye star replied while seemingly glancing toward Lopez’s very revealing gown. The comment caused havoc in the world of social media, with many labeling him tasteless and perverted.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez Remained Unbothered By Renner’s Comments
Jennifer Lopez is easily one of the most ‘conventionally’ beautiful women on the planet. Known for wearing statement and often revealing dresses, Renner’s comments were probably not the first of its kind the singer has been subjected to. While the internet crudely berated Renner for his remarks, the All I Have singer stated she found it funny,
“That was really funny. He’s a very funny man. It even made me a little hot.”
Which she really did as is evident from the video. However, seeing the fans’ reaction, the Bourne Legacy star was forced to defend himself, and he tweeted,
“A reminder not to take this sh*t so serious. Thanks Jennifer– You’re a gem.x #goldenglobes #hadtosayit #jlo”
While Renner’s little joke did not go well with the audience or the public, it is worth noting that such backlash remains unnecessary when the recipient of the joke remains unfazed by it.
