Penn Badgley Wants Another Season For You

During his recent interview with Indiewire, Penn Badgley shared that he wants his Netflix series to continue for another season. The streaming giant recently released Part 2 of the fourth season of the show, which could be considered a finale for the series. However, The Paper Store actor shared that his character in You is yet to face the consequences of his actions and needs to get “what’s coming for him.”

“It feels to me like we need to do another season. It feels to me like Joe needs to get what’s coming to him, and now he has further to fall because he has all this power and wealth.”

The Do Over star mentioned that it’s not something that’s up to him, but considering the concept of the show, he does not want to continue based solely on its success. He shared that the makers of the show have always wanted to be responsible for representing the story.

“But to me, with this concept and with this character, we always wanted to be responsible and it’s not just the kind of thing we can let keep going because it’s doing well.”

Badgley shared that the character also needs to face the consequences of what he has been doing for the past four seasons, in the next and final season of the show. Although he finds the ending of the fourth season satisfying, he still doesn’t feel that it was the conclusion that the viewers were looking forward to. And the Gossip Girl star has a feeling that makers could already be planning something for the next season.

Penn Badgley Feels Season 5 is Already in Works

During his recent interview, Penn Badgley also shared that he has a feeling that the makers may already have something in mind for the next season of the show. “And then it will probably be a spectacular resolution because it feels to me like something is in the works by the very end of this season,” he shared. Season 4 of You follows Joe revealing his true identity to Kate, portrayed by Charlotte Ritchie.

She accepts him as he is and decides to protect him with her wealth and connections, after which he comes back to New York with a new narrative that he has been the victim of a violent partner. However, there are a lot of things Kate still doesn’t know everything about her new partner. And she could find out these things in season 5.

The next season can also focus on Amy-Leigh Hickman’s Nadia getting her revenge on Joe Goldberg as he framed her for the murder of her boyfriend, Edward. Considering there are still several unanswered questions, the makers could soon announce the next season of the show. However, nothing can be certain until the official confirmation, as Netflix has been on quite the cancelation spree for some time.

You is available to stream on Netflix.
