Following her brief cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Hayley Atwell candidly voiced her discontent regarding the limited prominence of Peggy Carter within the expansive MCU. Throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Atwell’s portrayal of Peggy Carter has been an integral part, primarily recognized as the love interest of Captain America.
During her appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Hayley Atwell openly discussed her feelings regarding Captain Carter’s brief cameo, describing it as a “frustrating moment” in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
“She’s like, ‘I could do this all day,’ and then followed by she’s immediately cut in half by a frisbee, and then the audience being like, ‘She can’t do it all day… Apparently, you can’t, so… Yeah, egg on your face.’ And, I’m like, ‘Oh, it doesn’t really serve Peggy very well.”
Expressing her enthusiasm, Hayley Atwell shared her appreciation for the expanded role of Peggy Carter in the animated series What If…?. Delighted by the opportunity, she highlighted how the show has allowed her character to have a more substantial presence.
Hayley Atwell Gave Insights On Mission Impossible 7
Atwell disclosed that she seamlessly transitioned from filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One to immediately joining the production of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Without any delay, she traveled from the set of one project straight to Los Angeles, immersing herself in the filming process for her scene in the highly anticipated MCU film.
“But what was really great was the coming in, and doing even those stunt things, when she does that kind of very quick run, but then sliding on my knees, and like going over backwards and I had come straight off the first time I was wrapped for Mission [Impossible] 7, because I was wrapped nine times… And so I went straight from the set of Mission to the airport to LA, then put the outfit on, did one costume fitting, and then straight in.”
Following her involvement in the adrenaline-fueled film Mission: Impossible 7, Hayley Atwell expressed her desire to continue embracing a diverse range of roles and experiences, emphasizing her eagerness to “do it all.”
