Despite reprising his roles in most of Christopher Nolan’s movies following his appearance in the Dark Knight trilogy, Cillian Murphy opened up about the only possible movie of which he wasn’t a part. Discussing his profound admiration for Interstellar, Murphy seemed to regret his absence in the $773M cinematic marvel.

Cillian Murphy’s Deep Admiration For Interstellar 

Sharing his sentiments following his titular role in Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy expressed his deep admiration for Christopher Nolan’s 2014 blockbuster Interstellar. Previously being a long-standing collaborator of Nolan after reprising his role as DC villain Scarecrow, Murphy showered the acclaimed filmmaker with thunderous praise for his work.

Sitting for an interview with The Independent, Cillian Murphy acknowledged his emotional resonance, with Nolan’s Interstellar. “I adore Interstellar just because I find it so emotional” the actor admitted. He further added, “I remember seeing it in the cinema when I had little kids.” Highlighting his appreciation for Nolan’s work, Murphy discussed the freedom of being a spectator of a movie rather than being a participant.

Thus, reflecting upon the profound impact that Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway starring space drama had on him, Cillian Murphy described the movie as a heartbreaker. “It just had a big impact on me. It broke my heart.” Murphy mentioned. The actor concluded by stating, “I love watching his films when I’m not in them because you don’t have to freak out about the size of your ears, or whatever.”

Discussing with The Independent about a movie from the acclaimed filmmaker that he wished he would have starred in, Murphy selected the $773M space odyssey.

Although the actor stressed Nolan’s choice of “right people” in Interstellar and mentioned having no hard feelings, one cannot overlook the fact that Murphy deeply desired to star in the 2014 movie. Eyeing pivotal roles in Christopher Nolan‘s movies for a long time, Cillian Murphy expressed his subtle desire to reprise Matthew McConaughey’s role in the $773M movie.
