Star couples are always the subject of intense speculation. More often than not their comments and actions on social media come under more scrutiny than they should normally warrant. When a star couple splits, however, so do their legions of fans. A lot of drama generally follows a celebrity break-up, with the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard case being the most memorable in recent times.
They had their highs, and they had their lows, but actress Gwyneth Paltrow and musician Chris Martin had the most amicable of celebrity splits. They have since moved on happily and peacefully, creating new families and staying in touch with their old ones, often merging the two, and providing a wonderful template for modern parents and families, with Paltrow even going on to form a very good relationship with her ex’s current girlfriend, Dakota Johnson.
Gwyneth Paltrow has had an endearing relationship with ex-husband Chris Martin
Chris Martin attained worldwide popularity playing for the mega-famous alternative rock pop rock band Coldplay. Gwyneth Paltrow had hit her stride in Hollywood playing the role of Pepper Potts, eventual CEO of Stark Industries and one of the principal causes for the change of character of Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the MCU. Paltrow and Martin had met backstage at one of the latter’s concerts in 2002.
Paltrow and Martin tied the knot a year later, and a decade-long marriage brought them two children in Apple and Moses. When they ‘consciously uncoupled’ in 2014 and followed it up with a formal split soon after, not many would have accredited the two of them to deal with the split as maturely as they did.
“I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids,” Paltrow said in 2019. “But our relationship is much better like this: friends and co-parents and family.”
Gwyneth Paltrow married writer and producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, while Chris Martin has been dating 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson since 2017. Paltrow has expressed her love for Johnson several times, including a response on an Instagram story.
“Gwyneth really likes Dakota, and she likes Chris and Dakota together as a couple. Dakota has always fit in really well and felt like part of the family when they all hang out,” said a source to E! News.
Both Martin and Paltrow haven’t shied away from their co-parenting duties and have been what can only be described as being role models for modern parents.
Gwyneth Paltrow is best remembered for her role in the MCU as Pepper Potts
Gwyneth Paltrow plays the role of the influential Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though her role in the scheme of things has declined appreciably since Avengers: Endgame (2019), her contribution to the universe leading up to it cannot be overlooked. Starting out as the genius billionaire playboy Tony Stark’s secretary, Potts rises to become the CEO of Stark Industries in the second movie of the Iron Man franchise.
Potts’ role as a romantic interest for Stark was always under the surface and blossomed in the second and third installments of the Iron Man franchise. Potts plays a crucial role in modeling Stark’s character arc subtly and overtly for over a decade, being one of the prime reasons for modeling him into the superhero who finally did have a heart when it mattered the most. Potts’ character tells Stark that he can finally rest as he is dying on the battlefield at the end of Endgame, fittingly drawing to a close the life of her lover and boss, Iron Man.
