The annual Apple Event was held yesterday, unveiling the newest iPhones coming out later this month, along with the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. One interesting reveal made with the new iPhone 15 models, was the announcement that iPhone 15 Pro will have the ability to support full-scale modern AAA games.

The gameplay included glimpses of various sequences from Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4, concluding the first-look with a boss fight with Lady Dimitrescu. While iPhone users and gamers have been praising the new models for these capabilities, it’s not the first time AAA games have been brought to a mobile device, as Android games have been implementing the same in many different ways, for a long time now.
Android Devices Has Been Bringing AAA Games To Gamers For Years Now
Cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Steam Link and PS Remote Play has been bringing AAA games to Android devices for years now. Services like GeForce NOW links with all existing gaming libraries like Steam, Origin and Epic Games. This allows gamers to play games they own on all of these libraries and use a bluetooth controller to have a native experience, provided a stable internet connection is available.
If that wasn’t enough, there are a bunch of emulators such as Winlator that has allowed full-fledged PC games to run on Android devices, like Fallout 3 and Oblivion. All of this with almost no fuss and with most games even supporting touch-controls directly on Android mobile devices, along with the controller option.
Titles like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage are haven’t before been played on a mobile device before, but the portable experience is definitely not something new.
Android or iOS – Which Is The Better OS for Mobile Gaming
Android devices have always boasted better devices and much better customization options with the OS, when compared to the more closed iOS and not as powerful iPhones, comparatively. The latest A17 chips by Apple may finally bring some balance between the two powerful operating systems and handle gaming better. In terms of price point, Android has been winning with a host of powerful devices that are far cheaper than the Pro models when it comes to iPhones.
While there might finally be a better balance between the two major mobile operating system giants and devices, gamers everywhere will no doubt celebrate the fact that they can enjoy their favorite titles on more devices.
