After Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is expected to bring the adventurer and archaeologist Lara Croft on screen. The Crashing star has been in high demand following the breakout success of Amazon’s comedy-drama, Fleabag. She is also set to star alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5 and is also expected to star as the lead in Amazon’s Tomb Raider series.
Waller-Bridge has reportedly renewed her deal with Amazon for the next three years. The writer, producer, and actor has renewed her agreement to work on a series based on Claudia Lux’s book Sign Here. And new reports suggest that Waller-Bridge is also working on a Tomb Raider series under her new deal.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge Working on Tomb Raider Series
Phoebe Waller-Bridge has reportedly renewed her contract with Amazon for the next three years. The Killing Eve star first signed a three-year deal with the streaming giant in 2019. Not much information is available about her new deal with Amazon.
However, reports suggest that Waller-Bridge would be working on an Amazon series based on Claudia Lux’s Sign Here, a dark humor following a person who works in Hell. And recent updates have revealed that Amazon has signed up the writer-actor for another project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon has given her the responsibility to work on a series based on the popular game Tom Raider. She will be working on the script of the series and will also serve as an executive producer of the series alongside Ryan Andolina and Amanda Greenblatt.
Although the report claims that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is not interested in portraying the lead in the Amazon series, nothing has been confirmed about the cast of the series yet.
However, the Man Up star is set to appear alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5. Her character in the upcoming film could make her eligible to portray the archeologist in the series adaptation of Tomb Raider. However, it is still unclear if Phoebe Waller-Bridge will star as the lead, Lara Croft, in the series adaptation of Tomb Raider.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge on Working on Indiana Jones 5
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to star alongside Harrison Ford in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film, which is expected to be Ford’s last run as the adventurous archeologist, will follow Indiana Jones’ adventures with his goddaughter, Helena Shaw.
Waller-Bridge will be seen as the goddaughter of Indiana Jones, Helena Shaw, in Dial of Destiny. Talking about her character in the film, the Fleabag star said that Helena Shaw is “mysterious but charming.”
She also said that working on an Indiana Jones film is a dream come true for her, and shared that when she was offered the opportunity to star alongside Harrison Ford, “It was a very easy part to say yes to.” Waller-Bridge also shared that she was excited to work on her own stunts and action sequences and did everything the script required her to do as Helena Shaw.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will release on June 30, 2023.
